Nice try, dick, but next time make it visible.

Graves is already irritated before he even gets there.

The walk toward the XTREME Hallway is lit in that ugly fluorescent DMV lighting that sucks the soul out of everything.

On the wall, a freshly printed sign:

XWF—THE ACTION NEVER SLOWS DOWN!

Ten steps later and there's another sign.

PLEASE SLOW DOWN!

Graves stops.

"…wat?"

No answer. Of course not lol.

Gravy shakes his head and continues on.

He reaches the XTREME Hallway door.

There’s a third sign taped directly over the handle.

NEW RULE!
ONE PIN ATTEMPT PER PERSON PER DAY

Graves just… stands there long enough that it becomes uncomfortable.

"You’re shittin' me?"

He leans in, rereads it, like the words might magically rearrange into something less stupid.

"So let me get this straight," Graves growls, gesturing at the hallway. "This place is supposedly nonstop chaos. Action that never slows down, but also I gotta take a number and wait my fuckin’ turn like it's the DMV?

What's next, a rule that you can't respond to the bullshit your opponent be spoutin'?"

He laughs loud, mean, and sharp enough to cut the posted rules in half.

The sign splits down the middle and falls to the ground.

"That’s not Xtreme. This place gets lamer and lamer all the time!"

Graves takes one last look at the door.

"Nope."

He turns around.

Walks away.

"Congratulations," he calls out from down the corridor. "You've successfully brought the violence to a screeching halt. Hope you’re proud of yourselves, dummies!"

The XTREME Hallway remains silent. Totally untouched. Definitely not violated later when Graves sneaks back in and pins Jenny all covertly and shit.1.2.
