Blood. Sweat. Tape. Bruises blooming across skin in ugly constellations.
Jenny Myst is barely upright, half-carried by the Corporation, boots scraping faintly across concrete as they guide her toward XWF medical. Her breathing is ragged. One eye is already swelling. Her ribs are wrapped tight. Crimson streaks through her hairline.
She looks wrecked.
The double doors to medical slide open.
Just before she crosses the threshold—
She straightens.
Her posture snaps perfect.
Her chin lifts.
A slow, knowing smile curves across her face.
Across the hallway, Jennie Nickles freezes.
Their eyes lock.
Something feral flickers between them.
Then—
Jenny sneezes.
A sharp, violent, full-body convulsion.
The concussion of it alone is enough to rattle the hallway.
Jennie FLIES BACKWARD like she’s been struck by a sniper round, legs lifting clean off the floor as she crashes flat onto the concrete with a sickening THUD.
Jenny dives forward, ignoring her own injuries, collapsing across Jennie’s chest and hooking the leg.
From out of frame, Charlie Nickles comes sprinting in, dragging a referee by the wrist and throwing him to the floor beside them.
Ref:
“…you have got to be kidding me—”
But he drops.
ONE………………
Jenny presses harder, blood dripping from her hair onto the concrete.
TWO…………………
The corridor explodes with shouting, officials rushing, medical staff screaming for space—
5x FORMER, 1x AND LONGEST REIGNING (101 Days) FOREVER, AND ALWAYS
// The X-treme title is a great idea notionally. I love the principle of it and how hard a character would have to work to get that briefcase at the end of a hellacious trek.
But functionally, it does need work.
The rules are confusing. One section says that once a pin is attempted, another cannot be attempted for 12 hours. The sentence after that one says that if someone breaks the aforementioned rule, then both pins are voided.
It seems weird and bordering contradiction. Why is someone being rewarded for breaking the rules? That can be easily exploited by anyone wanting to troll.
The Freebird Rule that my faction's doing probably shouldn't be allowed either, lol. I hate saying that cause I'm in the faction doing it, but I can see what some might say from the other side of the fence.
I don't think there's a way to amend the rules to prevent people from trolling/exploiting them in some way, though. I've been here 7 months, and the rules have changed twice due to shenanigans.
A good start might be to prohibit faction members from pinning each other hot potato style and ditch the "if someone posts a pin while another is active, both pins are voided" rule.
But honestly? If it were me, I'd discontinue the X-Treme Title and bring in a new one or revamp/repackage a defunct one. Make the new championship have some of the same hard trek vibes despite no longer having the 24/7 rules attached. For example, keep the defenses needed for the 24/7 briefcase aspect, and perhaps allow anyone challenging for the title select the match type/stipulation.
You could even make it an intermediate word count title, like 2k when defended on Warfare or something. Could make it a tornado-type title that the champ must defend in multi-person matches only (triple threats, fatal fourways, etc). It'd make it really challenging but rewarding for a champion to make the trek through that to the briefcase.

// The rules do need changing a lot, I think the major issue is instead of rewriting rules we've just added on when a new problem popped up. And I agree with a lot of what Jennie said and feel they've made some good suggestions. The freebird stuff is amazing heel work but boy should it not be allowed lol but making the X title defunct, imo, is a non-option. It's a quirky belt with a ton of history and getting rid of that is too much.
I would suggest we keep the X title as it but simplify the rules.
Only 1 attempt every 24 hours, any other attempts after the first are void until 24 hours is up (it's not like the wild west days when everyone pinned every day)
No hidden pin shenanigans. (Charlie)
No pins that make the page inaccessible (Me)
If the champ is suspected of lying down for a friend/teammate the pin is void (An investigation would have to be done obvs)
That's just a rough draft, the people smarter than me can make it better. Just my 2 credits.

OOC: I can think of one example of Stablemates pinning each other that resulted in Lane vacating the title and telling me we weren't going to dick the title around to our pals.
Xtreme title has been here forever, I think since the very beginning. IDK about retiring it. The idea has come up, along with removing the 24/7 requirement, but Lane has had a hard stance against either in the past. I tend to agree.
Rules across the board could use updating. A lot of them are out of date. Anti-flood rules on the Warfare board for example.
End of the day, it's just a game. The work with the Xtreme title is both good heel work, and mildly annoying OOC, which IMO, is still good heel work.
I would suggest cleaning up the rules. I'd also suggest that if the title changes hands during the RP cycle for a defense, that the new champ is immediately thrust into that match to defend, even if they only have minutes to write a promo. Plan your pins well! lol.

The X isn't going anywhere. We are the X-Treeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeme Wrestling Federation, by damn! An e-fed in 2026 with the coolest name of 1995!
Listen, we all want people to make X pins. I don't know why they don't do it. And, unfortunately, when they DO do it there seems to be some grain of fuckery involved. The idea of both pins getting voided was done because the champ getting pinned was being unfairly confused by the multiple pins happening. BUT, then people started getting pins voided on purpose... which is shitty.
We added the 11th Hour rule because it's rad (like all my ideas are) and because it sucks when someone decides they are going to lose at a show and would rather just get 24/7 pinned instead and fuck over the person who beat them RPing.
What we need is for people to not be so god damn letter-of-the-law specific sometimes and understand that occasionally the GM team has to make some judgment calls. In the past, we would just KNOW people were trying to pass the title off to their buddy or whatever... could we prove it? No, not really, how would we be able to do that? But we KNEW. So we would void it. Did anyone technically break a rule? No, not really... but it's shitty gamesmanship.
Now, the recent freebirding with Charlie and all that was storylined. That's a little different. It's not ideal, but it didn't fuck anyone over and it advanced stories. That's okay in my book (as long as the necessary people are aware of it - and they were).
So what I would like to amend is simple:
1. Take away the idea of both pins being voided by the second pin. Void only the second pin and remove it completely so that the champion is not confused with which pin is active.
2. Also, us GMs need to lock the pin threads when they are kicked out of, so that people can't bump them up.
3. 11th Hour Rule stays as-is (because like I said - rad).
4. Maybe make the belt even more X-TREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEME looking!
The spirit of the 24/7 rule is timing. Not trickery or shenanigans. It's about picking the right time on the right champ. And, giving all of us a fun read along the way.
It's not supposed to be easy to win it. But it IS supposed to always be possible! Hell, you don't even have to be a registered member to make an attempt. ANYONE can come to the site and make a post.
Bet y'all forgot all about that part...

OOC: Turning a pin attempt thread into an OOC thread. Right on.
You know, I've been here for like 7 years and its only in the last year that I've noticed this much trouble with the XTreme.
I agree that getting rid of it is a nonstarter. I also think we need to get rid of the freebirding/trading it amongst stable mates. I think it falls under the purvew of "yes you can, but SHOULD you"? The beauty of the Xtreme is that technically anybody can win it at any time. The recent shananigans with the belt have diminished that spontanaity a great deal.
I also hate that "successive pin attempts can void each other" rule and I honestly could have sworn we already did away with that anyway.
I do kind of like Graves idea that winning the title in 24/7 when its being contested by other people in a booked match automatically shunts you into that match.
But yeah, the Xtreme has always been one of the things that keeps the fed fun and lively. I honestly think that most of the issues with it come from people either not paying attention, losing it and grousing about it, or people doing things with it that, while technically within the scope of the rules, are just annoying.

The voiding of both pins language was explicitly used here to also stop the intentional handing over of a title to a stable-mate. It should have been prohibited before the PPV but a) I think judging for Myst and GG hadn't been completed and b) discourse around the application of the 11th hour rule distracted from the underlying issue.
The X-Treme Title has been around without as many issues, because people just tried to have fun instead of exploiting the situation. Would love to get back to that.
To Gravy's point around tidying up the rules generally (non-X title], that is an active task that is already underway. No new rules there, just making the whole thing more understandable. And the whole announcements and info board will hopefully also be tidied up.
